POSTSECRET FOUNDER TEAMS UP with RAZOO to RAISE OVER $40,000 FROM 719 DONORS in ONE DAY for IMAlive.org!
Washington D.C. (NOVEMBER 22, 2011) –The Kristin Brooks Hope Center, founders of 1-800-SUICIDE, received over $40,000 in donations and prizes in Razoo's 1st Annual DC Gives Campaign on November 10th to support IMAlive.org, the world's first virtual crisis center. Through the amazing power of online social networking the supporters of the PostSecret Community rallied to deliver KBHC 3rd place overall in new donors, the Entrepreneurial Award and several other prizes added to Frank and Jan Warren's generous matching donation for each $10 donation which more than doubled the value of donations from 719 new donors.
KBHC snagged top honors in the last “Golden Ticket” contest of the night with the most number of donors in one hour. Frank Warren, Founder of PostSecret keynoted the event from DC's Warner Theater and rallied his followers to send support to KBHC. Donors which came from around the world following the first ever DC Gives online were greatly outnumbered by DC area supporters who were motivated by Frank's call for support to help train and certify 200 IMAlive Volunteers for the world's first virtual crisis center.

Geoff Livingston of Razoo.com and Frank Warren founder of Postsecret.com present giant check for $40,000 to Imalive.org founders Elena and Reese Butler. This was the combined donations and prizes and matching grant from the DC Cares event on November 10th called DC Gives to the Max
IMAlive launched in April of 2011 funded largely by similar contests held by JPMorganChase last year. It is quite fitting that the world's first virtual crisis center would be funded by people in the virtual world. Razoo.com has revolutionized the way money is raised for charities with their signature City Gives Events but more importantly has helped thousands of charities raise awareness about their existence and increased their volunteer pools significantly.
100% of all donors to KBHC in the DC Gives event received glow in the dark wrist bands with the www.imalive.org web address and the National Hopeline Network 1-800-SUICIDE (784-2433) on the outside and KBHC's 1-877-VET2VET (838-2838) www.veteranscall.us on the inside. Those that donated $50 or more also received a Deck of Suicide Prevention Playing Cards with the warning signs of what to look for in a loved one who may be suicidal along with face cards of famous people who battled with depression, some like Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill who overcame and Kurt Cobain and Marilyn Monroe who succumbed. The card deck was masterfully designed by Drew Schorno as a gift to KBHC.
All donors who gave $100 or more also received a signed copy of Frank Warrens book, “Life, Death and God” which debuted #1 on the NY Times bestselling list along with a sapphire blue tee shirt with the IMAlive Logo on the front and grateful messages on the inside from people who already credit IMAlive and its volunteer team with helping them to save their own lives and find hope to get additional help.
Razoo's “DC Gives to the Max” event was the largest single day of donations and individual donors in KBHC's 13 + year history. The outcomes are expected to continue to increase as each person who donated receives their gifts and explore the volunteer opportunities providing help and hope to people in crisis via the internet using chat, text, email and phone.
Already one of the amazing outcomes came as a result of Frank Warren tweeting a request for PostSecret supporters who were magicians to create a video promoting the new deck of playing cards. From Columbus, Ohio, magician Michael Kent produced a world class video which has already received over a thousand views in the short time it has been up and is destined to go viral. To see the amazing behind the headlines stories about Elton John, Billy Joel in the video and watch Michael Kent's skillful card tricks using KBHC's Suicide Prevention Playing cards, or to learn more about volunteer opportunities check out www.hopeline.com.
