During depression the world disappears. Language itself. One has nothing to say. Nothing. Kristin experienced this misery, yet still managed to touch many lives and even in death continues to help others find help for their depression.
The Kristin Brooks Hope Center was created to help those in crisis find help and hope immediately. The site and her story gives you a raw, personal glimpse into depression, and how it affects those around you. In addition, you will find the only clear, step-by-step path for you to follow out of the darkness. There is hope and you can feel happy again! New Grad Resources Press Release

GRAD RESOURCES GOES INDEPENDENT FOR GREATER IMPACT

Graduate students have too few resources to assist them in dealing with stresses and challenges in their pursuit of an advanced degree. In an effort to become more effective in serving these future leaders, Grad Resources is becoming independent from Campus Crusade for Christ.

There are over 2 million US students pursuing a Masters or Ph.D. and they need support, tools, and advice in order to face the demands of research and study. Grad Resources (www.GradResources.org) has been providing Time Management seminars, articles and local support groups since 1990 to keep grads hanging in.

Now the organization is becoming an independent faith-based service in order to partner with more groups interested in connecting with grads.

All graduate students can benefit from the various resources offered on the website, but some students look for spiritual assistance to meet their needs. Grad Resources has launched 56 Christian Grad Groups across the country (including 3 in Korea). Local campuses (UTD, TCU, UNT, Texas A&M and UT Austin) have particularly benefitted from the leadership provided by Grad Resources staff.

Dallas donors have provided most of the funding for the organization over the years and have pledged to continue their giving to the new non-profit. The Annual Grad Resources Golf Marathon (May13 at Canyon Creek Country Club) has raised about $100,000 per year since it began in 1995.

In response to the numerous graduate student suicides on US campuses, Grad Resources began The National Grad Crisis Line (800-GRAD-HLP). It has helped countless stressed students since it started in 1999, even more since Grad Resources gave it to Hopeline (www.hopeline.com/gradhelp.html). Nick Repak, founder of Grad Resources, stated, “We will always do what is best to serve the needs of graduate students, even if it means giving away resources or partnering with others in order to be most effective.”

After 32 years with Campus Crusade, Nick & Amy Repak will leave their staff on April 1 to provide leadership to the NEW Grad Resources.

I have lived in San Francisco since I was young. I am illegal. I am not wanted here. I don't belong anywhere. This summer I plan to jump off the Golden Gate.
